Elliot Anderson's Premier League debut for Manchester City ended with the midfielder coming off with an apparent injury issue midway through the second half of the home game with Bournemouth.
Anderson forced off after collision
Anderson, a club-record £116million signing from Nottingham Forest in the summer, went down just after the hour mark and received treatment on the pitch before being replaced by Mateo Kovacic.
The England international was able to walk off the pitch and the injury looked more of a knock than anything serious after a collision with Bournemouth's Alex Scott.
Midfield concerns for City
City will hope the issue is nothing serious given their current problems in midfield. The departures of Rodri and Bernardo Silva mean the Blues are light in the middle of the park and Enzo Maresca deployed Marc Guehi in central midfield against the Cherries alongside Anderson.
Nico O'Reilly played further forward with Kovacic and the out of favour Nico Gonzalez on the bench. The latter could well depart this month amid reported interest from Newcastle United.
Bouaddi deal and further moves
City have agreed a deal for Ayyoub Bouaddi to complete an £84.1million move from Lille and the 18-year-old is the next significant piece of City's midfield overhaul. A five-year deal with the option of an extra year for Bouaddi signals the intent from the club for the 18-year-old to be a big part of their future.
The Blues are likely to strengthen further in the final throes of the window having also seen Tijjani Reijnders depart while Savinho has agreed a move to Tottenham and Omar Marmoush could also depart.
