Rangers manager Derek McInnes faces a tough decision over captain Lawrence Shankland as the club prepares for their Conference League play-off first leg against Jablonec at Ibrox.
McInnes admitted it was ironic that Rangers produced their best attacking display after he dropped a striker for an extra midfielder in Sunday's Premier Sports Cup win over St Mirren. The question now is whether he will stick with that approach.
Striker conundrum
On Sunday, McInnes went with Ryan Naderi as the central frontman, and the German is likely to keep his place. That would mean club captain Shankland, who scored 22 goals for Hearts last season, has to settle for a place on the bench.
McInnes has said the armband does not guarantee Shankland a start. Unless the Rangers boss changes his system again to accommodate both strikers, it appears to be one of Naderi or Shankland.
Midfield options and new arrivals
McInnes also has Thelo Aasgaard available again after the Norway international was suspended for the St Mirren match. Tochi Chukwuani, Nico Raskin and Vanja Dragojevic worked well as a three in that game.
New loan signing Kosta Nedeljkovic, who arrived from Aston Villa, could be thrown straight in for a quickfire debut at right back ahead of Dujon Sterling. The Serbian was added to the Conference League squad, along with fellow new boy James Penrice.
