Arsenal vs Man City Community Shield: TV channel, kick-off time

Arsenal and Manchester City meet in the Community Shield in Cardiff this afternoon, with kick-off at 3pm on Sunday, August 16, at the Principality Stadium.

Why the venue changed

The traditional season curtain-raiser has been switched to the Welsh capital, with Wembley Stadium already booked out for US music artist The Weeknd's tour. The Gunners and City are used to going head to head, having battled each other for the Premier League title last season, in a match that went down to the second-to-last game of the campaign.

Mikel Arteta's men came out on top to lift the trophy, while City won last season's FA Cup. City have a new man in the dugout, with Enzo Maresca taking over from Pep Guardiola. Both teams have players easing their way back into action from the World Cup, but with the Premier League season around the corner, expect the intensity to take a step up at the Principality Stadium.

How to watch on TV and live stream

The Community Shield is no longer on free-to-air TV. TNT Sports are now the rights holders to the competition and will be showing this game on TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports Ultimate. TNT Sports customers can live stream the match on HBO Max.

Arsenal and Manchester City will meet once again on Sunday, August 16, when the Premier League champions play the FA Cup winners in the FA Community Shield. Fans can watch the game live on TNT Sports via HBO Max or Prime Video's HBO Max channel.

What the managers said

Mikel Arteta: "I think we've been able to tick a lot of boxes. Obviously, the circumstances of the World Cup and the amount of players that we had abroad have brought some constraints, but there are a lot of learnings to take and we're going to be ready for Sunday."

Enzo Maresca: "It's important that we continue to grow and improve. I think pre-season has been good because game after game the team has improved. Now pre-season is finished we need to compete, win games and titles. What I want to see it's the right spirit, to continue to improve, the right mentality to win games and titles."
