Royal correspondent Simon Vigar has shared a story from the early days of Kate Middleton's relationship with Prince William, revealing a confidence that he says is not always obvious.
Speaking on The Talking Royals podcast with host Charlene White, Vigar, one of the UK's longest-serving royal correspondents for Channel 5, discussed his book 'The Four Wives of Windsor: The Inside Story of the Power Behind the Crown'. He recalled that when Kate and William finally got together, people would tell her she was lucky to have him.
"And of course her response was, 'Well, he's lucky to have me'," Vigar said. "And there's a confidence there that isn't always obvious."
Early Days at University
Vigar referenced the famous fashion show at university where William reportedly said, 'Wow Fergus, Kate's hot'. He noted that Kate was one of the few people not chasing William, which made her more attractive to him.
He also mentioned that Kate found the early stages of her royal career difficult, lacking the media training that Meghan Markle had.
Supportive Partnership
Vigar's comments come amid reports that Kate may accompany William on an overseas visit focused on environmental issues. William has invested significant effort in this area through his Earthshot Prize, established in 2020 to find solutions for a sustainable planet.

Reports suggest Kate may accompany William to the forthcoming Earthshot Prize ceremony scheduled for November in India.
