Transfer news LIVE: Arsenal new target; Chelsea Scott boost; Man Utd latest

The countdown to the January transfer window is on as Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham all seek high-profile signings. Arsenal are reported to have a new target in Inter Milan winger Andy Diouf and remain in pursuit of Julian Alvarez, who is searching for new representation, as well as being linked with Kenan Yildiz, Antonio Nusa and Christian Kofane.

Chelsea handed Scott boost and Kounde interest

Chelsea have been handed a major boost in the race to sign Alex Scott and may have reignited their interest in Jules Kounde at Barcelona. Bournemouth have changed their stance and are now open to selling Alex Scott in January, writes Dom Smith. However, the Cherries are only willing to consider the 23-year-old's sale under specific conditions.

Standard Sport understands that Bournemouth are open to selling their prized midfielder in the January transfer window if an offer of more than £100million comes in. Bournemouth sources say a sale will only happen in January if Premier League survival is looking likely.

Man Utd and Liverpool transfer latest

Manchester United are among the clubs rumoured to be battling for Giuliano Simeone, while JJ Gabriel has held more talks with Bayern Munich. Liverpool have their eye on Lamine Camara, William Gomes and Marc Bernal as they also keep a close watch on Kylian Mbappe's situation at Real Madrid.

Manchester United are among the clubs rumoured to be interested in Giuliano Simeone. The struggling Red Devils come up against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night, which could double up as a scouting mission of sorts. According to TEAMtalk, United and Manchester City have both joined Tottenham in the race for Simeone, son of long-time Atletico boss Diego. United are said to have made initial enquiries for Simeone over the summer, when he was impressing for Argentina at the World Cup.

Tottenham and Aston Villa eye Endrick swoop

Tottenham are said to be pondering a huge January swoop for Endrick, as they also target Vangelis Pavlidis and Simeone, though appear to face stiff competition from Aston Villa. Real Madrid look potentially set to loan out the young Brazilian forward again in January, amid a lack of opportunities under Jose Mourinho at the Bernabeu so far this term and following his productive stint at Lyon during the second half of last season.

Shakhtar Donetsk chief executive Sergei Palkin has revealed the club will seek compensation from Tottenham for winger Manor Solomon. Solomon joined Spurs on a free transfer in July 2023 after a FIFA ruling allowed foreign players at clubs in Russia and Ukraine to suspend their contracts immediately following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. At the time, Shakhtar threatened legal action, believing Solomon had a market value of around €20million (£16.9m), and they are now set to reignite those discussions after the Israel international moved to West Ham this summer for an initial £5m fee.

Arsenal in three-way fight for Nusa and Kofane alert

Arsenal are locked in a three-way fight to sign RB Leipzig star Antonio Nusa, reports claim. Links between the Gunners and Nusa ramped up last week, when they were said to be considering a January swoop for his services. Now journalist Ekrem Konur reports that Arsenal are battling Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Newcastle for the Norwegian winger, who is said to be available for £60m.

Arsenal and Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Bayer Leverkusen striker Christian Kofane. That is according to Bild, who claim both clubs are on red alert after Kofane halted talks over a new deal after an agreement had been reached to extend his contract until 2031. The proposed renewal would raise his salary and remove the release clause from his current deal.

Arsenal look to have been handed good news in the race for Kenan Yildiz. The Gunners are believed to be long-term admirers of the Juventus and Turkey winger, around whom there was more transfer speculation late in the summer window before he needed surgery on a foot fracture. Links to Arsenal, as well as Real Madrid, have persisted since then, with Bayern Munich also said to be interested in a big-money swoop for Yildiz. However, BILD in Germany now claim that Bayern will not compete for his signature if other clubs come in with huge offers.

In case you missed it over the weekend, Arsenal are now said to have made a first move for Gilberto Mora. The 17-year-old wonderkid is subject to significant transfer interest after featuring at a home World Cup for Mexico this summer. Liverpool have been strongly linked with Mora of late, though Mexican publication El Porvenir now claim that it is Arsenal who have approached Club Tijuana over a deal. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Benfica are also credited with an interest in Mora, who is reported to have a release clause in his current contract valued at £21.2m.

Could Erling Haaland really end up at Arsenal? It is hard to believe, but the outcome of Manchester City's ongoing appeal against the guilty verdict returned by an independent commission last month on 114 of their 115 Premier League charges will surely have a decisive say on the future of arguably the world's best striker. It has previously been reported that Haaland could leave City next summer regardless despite only signing a new long-term contract last year, with a high-profile move to LaLiga said to be top of his wishlist amid long-standing interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona. However, Football Insider now claim that a desire to break Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League goal record could yet convince the Norwegian superstar to stay put in England.

Manchester United reportedly have no plans to sack Michael Carrick after Saturday's 1-1 draw with Tottenham condemned the club to their worst start to a league season for 40 years. The struggling Red Devils were comfortably second best to a Spurs side who sat winless and bottom of the Premier League table ahead of Saturday evening's high-profile fixture at Old Trafford, with Roberto De Zerbi's team having taken five matches just to score their first goals of the campaign despite a lavish summer transfer spend in excess of £300m. However, United appeared to be on course for a valuable victory, just their second in six top-flight games so far this term, after Bryan Mbeumo broke the deadlock 17 minutes from time.
