Reported Rangers transfer target Oskar Fallenius has hinted that he could perform a U-turn and sign a new contract at Djurgarden. The Light Blues were heavily linked with the winger during the summer transfer window, with Fallenius also said to be on the radar of 2. Bundesliga club Wolfsburg.
Contract talks open
Last month, the 24-year-old, who returned to his native Sweden from Brondby in Denmark three years ago, stated that he intended to leave the club when his contract expires on December 31. That would have allowed Derek McInnes' Gers to sign him for free when the window re-opens on January 1.
But Fallenius has revealed he is holding talks over a new deal with Djurgarden sporting director Maximilian Hahn and has not ruled out staying with the Stockholm club beyond the end of the year.
Player's stance
Asked about the situation by Swedish media, he said: "We've talked. That's true. I think Maximilian and I have had a pretty good dialogue over a couple of weeks and months. But I think we'll keep it pretty internal."
"I never rule anything out. It's a very, very nice club that I'm quite close to. It's all about finding something that suits me."
"The contract is expiring and I may have ambitions to move to higher leagues. But we won't know until after the end of the year."
"Above all, I should feel that there is a clear goal for me here. I have been here for four years now and especially this year there have been quite a few changes."
"I should feel that it suits me in terms of football as well, not just for love of the club."
