Olise contract demand and Nallo return: Liverpool latest

Liverpool are already looking ahead to January and beyond despite a busy summer of transfer activity. The Reds resume their season this weekend with a home match against Manchester City, who currently lead the Premier League. Manager Andoni Iraola will gain a clearer picture of his squad's capabilities when he faces Enzo Maresca's side, with the fixture likely to indicate which areas still need strengthening despite six new signings arriving before the campaign.

Michael Olise contract clause

Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise has reportedly made a contract demand to the Bundesliga club as speculation continues to link him with a move to Liverpool. The Reds were rumoured to be pursuing Olise this summer but ultimately opted to bring in Bradley Barcola and Victor Munoz out wide.

Spanish outlet Sport claims Olise has requested a new clause be inserted into a revised deal with Bayern, with the Bundesliga giants said to be willing to comply. The report suggests the Frenchman has demanded a clause that would permit him to leave Bayern for another club under certain circumstances.

German publication BILD claim Bayern are growing increasingly concerned about the star's eagerness to sign a new extension, with the proposed release clause reportedly causing unease amongst some at the club. Olise's existing deal runs until the summer of 2029, and the outlet suggests the Bavarians are keen to secure his services until 2032.

Liverpool transfer decision made

Liverpool youngster Amara Nallo has returned to Anfield following the termination of his loan spell at HJK Helsinki due to injury. The 19-year-old defender moved to the Finnish club in July until the conclusion of the Veikkausliiga season, which finishes in November.

Nallo is back on Merseyside to complete his rehabilitation after it became clear he would not regain fitness in time. The former West Ham United centre-back, who has made three senior appearances for Liverpool thus far, started three matches for HJK.

HJK confirmed in an official statement: "Amara Nallo's loan spell at HJK has ended due to an injury. Nallo, who previously served as captain of Liverpool's U21 team, arrived at Klubi in July on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.

"After receiving his work permit, the 19-year-old centre-back managed to play two Veikkausliiga matches in August, as well as an away game against Motherwell in the Conference League qualifiers.

"An injury kept Nallo on the sidelines for all of September, and he will not recover in time before the end of the Veikkausliiga season.

"The centre-back has already returned to Liverpool to rehabilitate his leg injury. Thank you for the visit, Amara!"

Liverpool also confirmed Nallo's return, with the defender now set to undergo his recovery at the AXA Training Centre.
