Manchester United have blocked two potential transfers as the club's new minority owners, Ineos, begin a shake-up of operations. The decisions come amid a broader review of the club's transfer strategy and squad management.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial, and Luke Shaw will miss Sunday's Premier League clash at West Ham due to injuries. James remains a doubt after picking up a knock against Leicester.
Solskjaer praised teenage striker Mason Greenwood, who scored his first senior goal for United in the Europa League win over Astana. 'If he keeps scoring goals, he'll play,' Solskjaer said, hinting at a potential Premier League start for the 17-year-old.
The manager also defended Marcus Rashford, who missed several chances against Astana. 'He's still young, he'll improve,' Solskjaer said. 'He's getting the chances. I don't worry about that.'
United have not won away from Old Trafford in eight games since March's 3-1 victory at Paris Saint-Germain. Solskjaer dismissed concerns, saying: 'Why should we coaches be concerned? I've never been a worrier.'
