Manchester United are reportedly set to launch a combined £69m bid for La Liga duo Eduardo Camavinga and Alejandre Balde, according to journalist PacoJo Delgado. The move comes as the club looks to add further reinforcements to Michael Carrick's first-team ahead of Tuesday's transfer deadline.
United's Busy Transfer Window
It has already been a fruitful summer for United, who have welcomed Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos to bolster their midfield, while Carlos Baleba arrived in a £70m move from Brighton and Hove Albion. Karl Darlow has also joined as a free agent to serve as back-up to Senee Lammens.
Despite these additions, United are seemingly far from finished. Delgado claims an intermediary has told him that a £43m bid for Real Madrid's Camavinga is in the works, with a £26m offer for Barcelona's Balde also being prepared.
Left-Back Search
United are known to be in the market for a left-back, with Luke Shaw, now 31, entering the final year of his contract at Old Trafford. The club had hoped to sign Lewis Hall, but Newcastle United's unwillingness to sell the 21-year-old has forced them to look elsewhere.
Balde, a 22-year-old Barcelona academy product, could be the ideal candidate. He has fallen out of favour under Hansi Flick and has reportedly told his agent, Jorge Mendes, to find him a new club for the upcoming season.
Midfield Depth and Attacking Options
As for Camavinga, a move appears less likely given Baleba's recent arrival. United are now well-stocked in midfield and may look to allocate their funds elsewhere.
The club could also be eyeing attacking reinforcements, with Joshua Zirkzee's exit looking increasingly probable. The Dutchman has struggled since arriving from Bologna two years ago and has been linked with Juventus, Fiorentina, and Como. Reports also suggest United are interested in Crystal Palace's Jean-Philippe Mateta, who is currently in a contractual dispute with his club.
