Manchester City defender Max Alleyne has joined Championship club Burnley on a season-long loan.
The Clarets were relegated from the Premier League last term and are rebuilding under new manager Nicky Hayen. Alleyne, who was on loan in the second tier with Watford during the first half of last season, has made the switch to Turf Moor and could make his debut in Sunday's Championship opener with West Ham.
Alleyne's City recall and loan move
Alleyne was recalled from his loan spell with the Hornets in January and parachuted into the City XI amid an injury crisis. The 21-year-old made seven appearances across four competitions for the Blues last season but was earmarked for a loan switch this term to continue his development.
Samuel heads to Exeter, Burns departs to Wigan
Meanwhile, fellow defender Lakyle Samuel has moved to League Two side Exeter City on a season-long loan deal. The right back spent time in the division last term with Bromley and now makes the switch to the south west. The 20-year-old has yet to make a senior appearance for the Blues.
The Blues have also confirmed the permanent departure of Finley Burns to League One side Wigan. The 23-year-old defender has moved for £200,000 and signed a three-year contract at The Brick Community Stadium. He made one senior appearance for City, playing 90 minutes in an EFL Cup win over Wycombe in 2021.

"I'm delighted to be here, and it's amazing to get the deal done," he said on signing for the Latics. "It's something we've been working on for a little while, having spoken to the gaffer a few times, so it's nice to finally have it done."
"After those conversations, it was a project I could see myself involved in, but I see this as a massive club. When I was growing up as a kid, I knew them in the Premier League, so that was big as well. The gaffer stressed the playing style and how he works, and we have a similar view of how we should play."
