Yankuba Minteh saw Brighton reject two Liverpool offers believed to be in the £50m-£60m range. The 22-year-old has enormous potential, and another attempt could be made next summer despite his contract extending until 2029.
Ismaila Sarr was heavily linked with Liverpool after Mohamed Salah's exit, with interest intensifying after the Reds withdrew from the Minteh pursuit. Claims of a rejected £50m offer have been denied, but the winger could become available in the coming years with his Selhurst Park deal running until 2029.
Defensive and midfield reinforcements
Aurelien Tchouameni has long been admired by Liverpool, stretching back to his days at Monaco. His Real Madrid contract expires in the summer of 2028, and next summer could present an opportunity to secure the 26-year-old defensive midfielder, though prising him away will not come cheap.
Fikayo Tomori, with Premier League and Champions League experience, is an attractive prospect for defensive reinforcement. Having joined Milan permanently in 2021, he has claimed the Serie A title in 2022 and the Supercoppa Italiana in 2025. With his contract expiring next year, the former Chelsea defender could prove to be a free signing for the Reds.
Trent Alexander-Arnold's stint at Real Madrid, following his departure from Liverpool in the summer of 2025, has fallen well short of expectations. His difficulties have mounted, with Denzel Dumfries arriving to battle for the right-back berth and new boss Jose Mourinho dropping him for the opening two matches of the campaign, though he has since featured in a La Liga outing against Malaga.
