Liverpool have completed the signing of Victor Munoz from Osasuna, the first recruit under new manager Andoni Iraola. The 22-year-old winger underwent a medical in Tennessee and has signed a six-year deal, with the fee to be paid in two instalments. Real Madrid will receive 50% of the transfer fee as part of a previous agreement.
Attention now turns to RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande, with Liverpool indicating they are prepared to pay up to €100 million (£86.7 million) for the Ivory Coast international. The club moved a step closer to finalising the deal on Thursday evening, sending a representative to the USA to accelerate negotiations.
Following the potential arrival of Diomande, Liverpool are also targeting Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi. The 18-year-old Morocco international impressed on his World Cup debut against Brazil and has attracted interest from several top European clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Real Madrid.
Bouaddi, who primarily operates as a defensive midfielder, would address a key weakness in Liverpool's squad. Ryan Gravenberch is currently the only recognised option in that role, with Stefan Bajcetic sidelined through injury and Wataru Endo retiring from international football due to a persistent ankle problem.
Liverpool's recent success in winning transfer battles, as demonstrated in the Munoz pursuit, gives them confidence as they compete for Bouaddi's signature. The club are determined to bounce back after a disappointing fifth-place finish under former manager Arne Slot, who was dismissed in early June.
