Liverpool have been inundated with loan offers for Ifeanyi Ndukwe after an impressive pre-season by the new teenage centre-back signing.
Ndukwe, who arrived from Austria Vienna earlier in the summer after a £2.6million deal was agreed in January, has been the breakthrough star thus far under new Reds head coach Andoni Iraola.
The 18-year-old, though, is ineligible to play competitively for Liverpool this season due to work permit issues following the decision of the United Kingdom to leave the European Union.
Work permit complications
Ndukwe currently does not have sufficient points to obtain a Governing Body Endorsement (GBE) to gain a work visa, while Liverpool's one available Elite Significant Contribution (ESC) slot has already been taken up by 18-year-old Senegalese centre-back Mor Talla Ndiaye, who made the first-team bench towards the end of last season.
Liverpool are therefore preparing to allow Ndukwe - who has managed one brief senior outing for Austria Vienna at the end of last season - out on loan for the duration of the season to a club where he will most likely be given the necessary minutes to qualify for a work permit.
Interest from across Europe
Clubs from Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium and Denmark have all expressed an interest, with the youngster's performances during the summer hugely increasing demand for his services.
And, speaking to Danish news outlet Tipsbladet, Ndukwe's representative Georg Lederer has provided further detail over the defender's potential temporary exit.
"I can't say which clubs we are in dialogue with, but I can confirm that we are in dialogue with Danish clubs about Ifeanyi Ndukwe," said Lederer. "The only thing I can say is that we are not talking about the top clubs in Denmark."
"We are also talking to several foreign clubs, but right now we need to decide, in collaboration with Liverpool, where Ifeanyi will fit best."
"We are looking at several different parameters. First and foremost, it is about Ifeanyi getting a lot of playing time, and then Liverpool are also looking at what type of football clubs play, as they want him in a high-pressing defence, so it is a bit like what you see in Liverpool."
"Since Ifeanyi has just arrived at Liverpool, it is of course a loan agreement without an option to buy, but for now I can't say much more."
