Burger King unveils first Christmas menu in over a decade
Burger King's first Christmas menu in over a decade

Burger King is launching its first festive menu in more than a decade, with the new Ultimate Camembert Wagyu burger as the headline item. The seasonal range also includes a 'golden' side, plant-based burgers, and a dessert, available at participating restaurants nationwide, on the BK app, and via delivery platforms from November 3.

What's on the festive menu?

The Ultimate Camembert Wagyu is described as a 'hearty festive upgrade' on the original burger, which launched in March and had Gordon Ramsay's seal of approval. The updated version features a 100 per cent British wagyu beef flame-grilled patty topped with a breaded camembert patty, tomato cranberry ketchup, truffle black pepper mayo, and fresh rocket, all inside a soft brioche bun.

The regular Wagyu burger is also returning, with a 100 per cent flame-grilled Wagyu beef patty, sweet caramelised onions, pink pickled onions, crispy onions, pepper rocket, and caramelised onion mayo in a soft, seeded brioche bun. For those seeking alternatives, a Festive Whopper and Festive Plant-based Whopper will be available, both with tomato cranberry ketchup, though these are only for home delivery.

Side dishes and desserts

Customers can add an order of five Golden Onion Rings on the side, and round off the meal with a slice of Chocolate Orange Cheesecake. The festive menu items are available from November 3, but the duration of availability has not been confirmed.

Early taste test

Metro video producer Jed Bradley got an early taste of the new Christmas burger. He said: 'With a box that unfurls like a spring rose, this can trick you into thinking the premium price you paid for The Ultimate Camembert Wagyu was worth it.' He described the camembert patty as 'more bready than cheesy', adding that overall the burger was 'a fun and tasty festive treat' but it 'won't turn my head from my usual double Whopper with cheese'.

Lifestyle editor Kristina Bealand was a fan of the cheesecake. 'If it isn't Christmas until you've had a chocolate orange, this is the treat for you,' she claimed. 'There's no mistaking the flavour; fans will love it. The texture of the top layer of… goo… is a little bit jelly-like, but if you can get past that, it tastes great, and the biscuit-y base has just the right amount of crunch.'
