Kasper Hogh has completed his record-breaking move to Celtic, signing a four-year deal with a 12-month option. The Danish striker joined from Bodo/Glimt for a fee of over £11 million, becoming Martin O'Neill's second summer signing.
Ready for the Parkhead Cauldron
Hogh, who scored 54 goals and provided 22 assists in two seasons with the Norwegian club, insists he is ready to hit the ground running. He said: "First of all, I'm a happy boy. I like just to play football and then I think they will see that I'm a box striker. I like to be in the box, score the goals and then I just want to help the teammates to do some defence also and work for the team."
He added: "I think the shirt is so nice and I'm just excited man. The history of the club is so big. Secondly, my favourite colour is green so that's a good match. And then I spoke with some guys and also my family and the feeling they had about it and also the feeling I have in my stomach was just like a good match really."
"I just hope I come on the pitch so I can show the rest with my feet. The feeling I have is very good. I just want to get started and thrown into the fire."
Champions League Ambitions
The 25-year-old has been brought in to spearhead Celtic's push for the Champions League and the £40 million jackpot that comes with it. Hogh blasted six goals as Bodo/Glimt stormed into the last 16 of Europe's elite competition last season and is determined to help Celtic return to the top table. He scored against Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League.
Hogh, the 2024/25 Europa League top scorer, said: "First of all, I also played on a good team so that definitely helped me. They give a good confidence to see that you can match up with one of the best teams and some of the best teams in the world."
"I've trained the whole summer. Just played some games already in the league. The Norwegian league is already going so I feel ready, man." He is set to be unleashed against Dundee on Monday night.
"I've heard the atmosphere is so crazy. The club I played in before, Bodo, they said it was a crazy atmosphere there. I'm just looking really forward to playing in front of the fans. I talked a lot with my old club that the atmosphere there is so crazy. I just want to get started."
