Nottingham Forest have placed a staggering nine-figure valuation on their rising star, Elliot Anderson, as transfer interest from Premier League giants intensifies.
The £100 Million Price Tag
According to a report from The Telegraph, any club wishing to secure the signature of the 23-year-old midfielder next summer will need to table an offer of at least £100million. This formidable asking price firmly places Anderson in the same financial bracket as other homegrown Premier League talents like Declan Rice and Jack Grealish.
The report clarifies that Forest will not consider any offers during the upcoming January transfer window, making a summer sale the only plausible scenario. Forest only signed Anderson from Newcastle United in June 2024 for a fee of £35million, with goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos moving to Tyneside as part of the deal.
Soaring Stock and Suitors
Anderson's reputation has skyrocketed since his move to The City Ground. His exceptional club form has now translated to the international stage, where he has become a first-choice player for England under head coach Thomas Tuchel.
He recently featured in both of England's World Cup qualifying wins, cementing his status as a key figure for his country. This soaring stock has inevitably attracted attention, with his boyhood club Newcastle United and rivals Manchester United listed among his reported suitors.
Major Profit and No Buyback Clause
A potential £100million-plus transfer would represent a monumental financial gain for Nottingham Forest. They stand to make a profit of over £65 million just two years after his acquisition.
In a significant boost for Forest, it is understood that Newcastle United do not hold a buyback clause for their academy graduate. The Magpies were compelled to sell Anderson in 2024 to avoid a Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) points deduction.
Anderson will now focus on his club duties, with a tough fixture against Premier League champions Liverpool awaiting this Saturday afternoon.
