Fenerbahce are reportedly prepared to 'break the bank' to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United, a move that could see him reunite with former teammate Mason Greenwood. The Turkish giants have already approached the England international's representatives to gauge his interest in a move to the Super Lig.
Rashford's uncertain future
Rashford's future at Old Trafford remains unclear after a loan spell at Barcelona last season. The Catalan club decided against making the move permanent, opting instead to sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle for £69 million. This has left Rashford considering his options following England's World Cup campaign.
Fenerbahce have emerged as a determined suitor, with The Sun reporting that Rashford features on a three-man shortlist alongside AC Milan's Rafael Leao and Crystal Palace's Ismaila Sarr. The club have already strengthened their attacking ranks this summer with the addition of Greenwood, who joined from Manchester United.
Fenerbahce's pursuit
The Super Lig club are said to be willing to pull out all the stops to secure Rashford's signature, should his camp signal that the player is receptive to a move to Turkey. Rashford enjoyed a fruitful loan stint at Barcelona, where head coach Hansi Flick praised him during a recent interview.
"You never know what happens with players who are on loan. Our situation is not easy in that respect," Flick said following a pre-season friendly against Preston North End. "But I appreciated working with him. He is a fantastic player and a fantastic person. The team will miss him, I will miss him, but that's life."
Other Turkish interest
Rashford is not the only big-name player being courted by ambitious Turkish clubs this summer. Mohamed Salah has also received approaches, with Besiktas appearing as frontrunners before talks stalled. Trabzonspor have now entered the race for the Liverpool forward.
