Former Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi is on the verge of a permanent move to Fenerbahce, with L'Equipe reporting an agreement in principle worth up to £26million. The 26-year-old French international joined Lazio in 2023, initially on loan from Marseille, before making the switch permanent a year later. He has made 15 Serie A appearances this season, but Lazio are ready to sell just days after offloading striker Taty Castellanos to West Ham.
Guendouzi joined Arsenal as a teenager under Unai Emery, making 82 appearances in two seasons. However, he was frozen out by manager Mikel Arteta after an altercation with Brighton's Neal Maupay in a Premier League match in 2020. That match proved to be his last in English football, but he rebuilt his career at Marseille, earning a senior France debut in 2021 and now has 14 caps, including an appearance at the 2022 World Cup.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are open to offers for young centre-back Maldini Kacurri this month. The 20-year-old returned to North London after impressing on loan at National League side Morecambe, where he made 18 appearances and won the player of the month award twice. Kacurri, who has one senior cap for Albania, made his senior Arsenal debut last season in the Carabao Cup and was an unused substitute in several Premier League and Champions League matches. His contract expires in the summer.
Fellow academy product Harrison Dudziak has also attracted interest. The 19-year-old midfielder is currently on loan at non-league Braintree Town until January 21, but could follow that with a spell in the EFL.
