Atletico Madrid have turned down an approach from Barcelona for striker Julian Alvarez, according to reports in Spain.
The Argentina international has been a key figure for Diego Simeone's side since arriving from Manchester City in 2024, and the club are adamant he will not be leaving this summer.
Barcelona's interest
Barcelona are in the market for a new forward and have identified Alvarez as a primary target. However, Atletico have made it clear that the 25-year-old is not available at any price.
The Catalan club are facing financial constraints and would struggle to meet Atletico's valuation, which is believed to be in excess of €100m.
Alvarez's importance
Alvarez has scored 32 goals in all competitions for Atletico this season, establishing himself as one of the most feared strikers in Europe.
His contract at the Metropolitano runs until 2030, and the club have no intention of cashing in on their prized asset.
