Arsenal have received a boost in their Premier League title pursuit as Manchester City face defensive struggles, with Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi reportedly staying put. City are exploring a January move for Guehi after Josko Gvardiol's season-ending injury, but Palace manager Oliver Glasner insists the defender will remain until the end of the season.
Glasner bluntly stated: 'Of course we want to keep everyone,' and reiterated: 'I think Marc will stay until the end of the season.' Palace previously resisted Liverpool's interest in the summer and are resigned to losing Guehi on a free transfer, but may not sell this month.
City's defensive woes deepened as Ruben Dias also picked up a potential issue in their recent clash, leaving Pep Guardiola's side light at the back. This comes as Arsenal hold a six-point lead at the top of the table after Declan Rice's brace secured a 3-2 win over Bournemouth.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are linked with AC Milan's Davide Bartesaghi. The 20-year-old, valued at £39m, can play left wing-back or in a back three. Milan are negotiating a new long-term deal, but interest from City and Real Madrid may complicate matters.
