Bournemouth are prepared to consider selling midfielder Alex Scott in the January transfer window, but only if a bid of more than £100 million arrives and their Premier League survival appears secure, according to Standard Sport.
The 23-year-old England international has attracted interest from Chelsea and Liverpool, who are both said to be well-placed to move for him if they pursue their long-standing interest.
Conditions set for January departure
Standard Sport understands that Bournemouth have softened their previous stance over Scott's future. However, a sale will only materialise if certain conditions are met, including an offer exceeding £100 million.
Additionally, Bournemouth sources say a January exit would only be sanctioned if the club's top-flight status looks likely to be preserved. The Cherries currently sit in the bottom three, having failed to win a league match this season, with defeats to Chelsea and Liverpool either side of the international break.
Scott's praise for Iraola
Should Scott move to Liverpool, he would be reunited with head coach Andoni Iraola, whom he has previously hailed as "amazing". Speaking during the summer, Scott explained the trust the Spanish tactician has placed in him.
"I feel like I have had his trust," Scott said. "Defensively, maybe in my first two seasons, I wasn't at the level to be playing in the Premier League, and that is something I had to learn from the players ahead of me in the team.
"But he put his trust in me from the first game of the season, and I played 34 full games this year, so that is something to be really proud of. The manager has been amazing for me, working with me going forward, defensively, (and) being more aggressive."
Chelsea's long-term interest
Chelsea are expected to target Scott at some point in 2027 as they seek a replacement for Enzo Fernandez, having failed to do so before the summer transfer window closed.
The Blues had a bid of around £64 million for Scott rejected by Bournemouth in the summer, though the midfielder has also turned down an offer of a new contract.
