World Cup Player Ratings: Bellingham and Rashford Spark England Against Panama
World Cup Ratings: Bellingham and Rashford Shine for England

England Player Ratings

Jordan Pickford (6): Made a solid save to deny José Luis Rodríguez but still doesn't inspire confidence when charging off his line.

Jarell Quansah (5): An early mistake betrayed nerves, but he settled after a great tackle. Does not add much going forward.

Ezri Konsa (6): Looks shaky in possession at times but is building his understanding with Guéhi and should keep his spot.

Marc Guéhi (7): Typically unflustered. England look much more solid with the Manchester City defender at the back.

Nico O'Reilly (7): Defensive shortcomings were exposed again, but he always looked to get forward and caused problems.

Elliot Anderson (5): Far too isolated in central midfield. Not the performance of a player worth £116m.

Jude Bellingham (8): Much more involved from a deeper role initially and came up with the crucial goal when England needed him. Great cross for Kane's clincher.

Morgan Rogers (6): Looked determined to take his chance but found himself on the periphery too much. Needs to work on his understanding with Bellingham.

Bukayo Saka (7): Full of energy after returning from injury, although end product was lacking. Will improve as fitness builds.

Marcus Rashford (8): England's brightest spark in attack and will be disappointed not to have scored. Has to start the next match.

Harry Kane (7): Worryingly anonymous in the first half but improved after the break and got his record-breaking goal.

Substitutes

Noni Madueke (5): Little impact after replacing Saka for the last 30 minutes.

Djed Spence (7): Cleared a header off the line on his mandatory appearance.

Eberechi Eze (6): Looked more comfortable than against Ghana.

Ollie Watkins (7): Almost snaffled a third goal.

Jordan Henderson (6): Shored things up on his first appearance of the tournament.

Panama Player Ratings

Orlando Mosquera (7): Dealt with almost everything England threw at him, including two excellent saves to keep out Rashford and Kane.

Amir Murillo (6): Struggled to contain Rashford initially but grew in confidence. Could have scored twice.

Fidel Escobar (7): A rock at the back. The veteran was a commanding presence as he reached a century of international caps.

José Córdoba (7): The Norwich defender stood up well to Kane and showed some nifty footwork.

Andrés Andrade (6): Appears to enjoy diving into challenges. Almost scored a comical own goal.

Jorge Gutiérrez (6): Had his hands full with Saka but showed some attacking endeavour.

Cristian Martínez (7): Never stopped running and displayed a few silky touches on the right flank.

Yoel Bárcenas (6): Ran out of steam after covering nearly every blade of grass. Subbed off after England's second goal.

Carlos Harvey (7): Made crucial tackles and stuck to his gameplan of giving Anderson no time on the ball.

José Luis Rodríguez (8): An outrageous 360 turn took the break away and he was always a danger on the counterattack.

Tomás Rodríguez (7): Could have scored inside the first 20 seconds and caused England's defence problems before being replaced at half-time.

Panama Substitutes

José Fajardo (5): Got little change out of Guéhi and Konsa. Inches offside for a disallowed goal.

Ismael Díaz (7): A lively presence who almost grabbed a consolation goal.

Azarías Londoño (6): A powerful runner but couldn't get any change from Guéhi.

Eric Davis (6): Too late to make an impact.

Alberto Quintero (6): No effect on the outcome.
