Tennis icon Serena Williams has unveiled a dramatic new look, showcasing the results of a significant 31lbs weight loss in a powerful and fashionable photoshoot for PORTER magazine's latest issue.
A Confident Display of Transformation
The 44-year-old sporting legend exuded body confidence as she modelled a series of standout looks for the publication. In one of the most striking images, Serena posed beside a swimming pool wearing a bold cut-out swimsuit, proudly displaying her toned physique, sculpted arms, and strong legs.
She demonstrated her fashion versatility throughout the shoot, slipping into a black skintight dress that accentuated her curves and channelling retro vibes in an oversized, strong-shouldered leather jacket from the '80s. The latter look was paired with tights and sky-high heels for a full fashion statement.
The Journey to Self-Love and Health
This photoshoot follows Serena's revelation in August 2025 that she had lost over 30lbs with the aid of a weight-loss medication. After giving birth to her second daughter, Adira, a year earlier, the star initially tried to lose her baby weight naturally before turning to healthcare company Ro for guidance.
She was hesitant at first, thoroughly researching GLP-1 treatments, which include medications like Ozempic and Mounjaro. "I did a lot of research on it," she told People Magazine. "I was like, 'is this a shortcut? What are the benefits? What are not the benefits?' I really wanted to dive into it before I just did it."
After stopping breastfeeding when Adira was six months old, Serena began weekly injections and now reports feeling better than ever.
Embracing a New Chapter
Serena, who wore her hair blonde and flashed a winning smile for the camera, has always been candid about her body image. Last year, she posted on Instagram about the importance of self-love through different life stages.
"Right now I love that my body is not picture perfect," she wrote at the time. "I love that I smell like milk - that milk sustains @adiraohanian. I love getting to know a new version of my body. It is a change, but it's a change that has been well worth it."
The seven-time Wimbledon champion's photoshoot for PORTER stands as a powerful testament to her journey of health, transformation, and embracing confidence in her own skin.
