Raducanu withdraws from Linz Open as recovery continues

Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from next week's Linz Open as she continues her recovery from illness. The British No 1, who has been sidelined by post-viral symptoms, will also miss the Miami Open, having picked up the illness in Romania in early February.

The 23-year-old has already sat out Great Britain's Billie Jean King Cup qualifier against Australia, and is now expected to target the Madrid Open, which begins on 21 April, for her return to court.

Raducanu last played in the third round at Indian Wells on 8 March, where she lost 6-1, 6-1 to Amanda Anisimova. She attributed the low-key display to a lack of power, saying: "I need to be aggressive when playing those players, but there's still a long way to go to be doing that and I need to use my strengths and probably mix it up a bit more."
