Matthias Jaissle Set to Replace Eddie Howe at Newcastle

Eddie Howe is set to leave Newcastle United with immediate effect after five years at St James' Park. The 48-year-old has informed the club of his intention to take a break from management following his departure.

Poor Pre-Season Results

Newcastle United have struggled in pre-season under Howe. After a 3-0 win over Darlington, the Magpies were held to a 1-1 draw by Gateshead, then suffered a 4-1 loss to Championship side Bristol City.

Successor Identified

The club is reportedly preparing to appoint Matthias Jaissle of Al-Ahli as their new head coach. The 38-year-old is considered the top target, with advanced talks underway.
