Liam Rosenior has returned to management after being appointed the new head coach of Ligue 1 side Paris FC, just months after his calamitous tenure at Chelsea came to an end.
New Role in France
The 41-year-old former Chelsea manager has signed a contract with Paris FC, marking his return to French football. Rosenior previously managed in Ligue 2 before his ill-fated spell at Stamford Bridge.
Paris FC confirmed the appointment on Tuesday, with Rosenior taking over a club currently mid-table in Ligue 1. The club's fans have reacted with mixed emotions, with some expressing surprise and others using the phrase 'respect the ball' in reference to his playing philosophy.
Chelsea Nightmare
Rosenior's tenure at Chelsea lasted only six months, ending in March 2026 after a series of poor results. He won just 8 of his 28 matches in charge, leaving the club in 12th place in the Premier League. His dismissal was widely expected after a 5-0 defeat to Arsenal.
According to sources close to the club, Rosenior struggled to adapt to the high-pressure environment at Chelsea, with player unrest and tactical confusion contributing to his downfall.
Return to Familiar Territory
Rosenior previously managed in France with Ligue 2 side Valenciennes, where he earned a reputation for developing young talent and promoting attacking football. His appointment at Paris FC is seen as a chance to rebuild his career away from the intense scrutiny of the Premier League.
