Lando Norris won the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday, securing his first victory of the season. The reigning world champion sits fifth in the drivers' championship, while Kimi Antonelli leads the title race after winning six of 11 races.
Hamilton penalty causes confusion
Lewis Hamilton was handed a five-second penalty for speeding in the pit lane during the race. Stewards recorded his speed at 80.1kph, exceeding the 80kph limit. The penalty dropped him from fourth to fifth place, just four seconds ahead of Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc.
Sky Sports F1 pundit Anthony Davidson questioned the decision after reviewing onboard footage. Hamilton appeared to activate his pit limiter at the correct moment. Davidson said: "I've looked at this so many times and I can't work out why he gets a penalty. For me, he slows down sufficiently well. ... Maybe there was just an error when he was a bit too close to the line on the actual speed of the car and they were just pinged by that. Who knows? Strange that it only happened that one time."
Piastri slams 'unacceptable' incident
Oscar Piastri criticised Carlos Sainz after a collision that ended his race. The McLaren driver was battling for the lead when he encountered lapped cars Sainz and Fernando Alonso. Sainz attempted to pass Alonso but moved across Piastri, causing contact. Stewards penalised Sainz with a five-second penalty on lap 39.
Piastri later retired due to a gearbox problem. He said: "I couldn't believe what happened. Getting crashed into by a lapped car is never one of the things you expect that can go wrong in your race. And today it was. I don't really care if he didn't see me and the fact that he didn't and no one told him, or there was a lack of complete awareness, is unacceptable."
