Scotland is set to play their second World Cup match against Morocco tonight, and tensions are high as fans eagerly await the outcome. Following their win against Haiti on Sunday, June 15, which marked their first World Cup victory since 1990, many supporters are now hoping for a strong performance that could lead to the knockout stages.
Puppy Prediction Goes Viral
A Gaelic puppy named Somhairle (pronounced Sorley) has become an internet sensation after predicting a draw for the match. In a video uploaded by Calum Maclean on Instagram, the puppy is seen digging up flags hidden in the sand—one for Morocco and one for Scotland. Instead of choosing one, Somhairle created a new hole in the middle, indicating a draw.
The clip has already gained over 30,700 views from nervous fans seeking to ease their pre-match nerves. Calum noted that the puppy has a "100 per cent record" in predictions, having correctly predicted Scotland's win over Haiti last week.
Fan Reactions
Many fans expressed relief at the possibility of a draw. One commented, "Take that any day of the week," while another said, "Decent result and four points in the bag." Others noted that other animal predictions, including a cat, had also forecasted a draw. However, some fans remain hopeful for a win, with one writing, "I hope he's wrong and it's a win."
Other Animal Predictions
Ladbrokes also teamed up with a psychic Highland Cow named Senga before Scotland's first match. Senga predicted a win against Haiti, a draw against Morocco, and a defeat against Brazil, which would give Scotland four points—likely enough to advance to the knockout stages.
Scotland will face Morocco tonight with an 11pm kick-off, followed by a match against Brazil on Wednesday, June 24.
