The English Football League (EFL) has confirmed the release date for the 2026/27 season fixtures across the Championship, League One and League Two. All three divisions will see their schedules published on Thursday, June 25 at 12pm BST.
Fixture Release Details
The Premier League has already announced its schedule, but the EFL has now set its fixture publication day for June 25. Fans can access the complete 46-round fixture lists through club channels and official EFL media outlets.
Additional Draws on June 25
Alongside the league fixtures, Thursday, June 25 will also feature the Carabao Cup first-round draw and the Vertu Trophy group-stage draw.
Season Start Dates
The 2026/27 season will officially begin with the Carabao Cup first round during the weekend of August 7-10. A preliminary stage involving certain lower-tier clubs is scheduled for August 1-3. The opening round of Championship, League One and League Two fixtures will take place the following weekend, from August 14-17. The Premier League campaign will start the weekend after that.
Television and Viewing Information
The EFL will confirm the entire first-half television schedule early to ensure supporters travelling to matches receive sufficient notice. Live coverage of the opening weekend will be available on Sky Sports and Sky Sports+. UK audiences can watch more than 1,000 live matches from the EFL, Carabao Cup and Vertu Trophy across these platforms. In the United States, CBS Sports will televise at least 250 live games.
Play-Off Changes
A significant revision for the 2026/27 season is the expansion of the Championship play-off field from four to six teams. Clubs finishing in third and fourth place will receive automatic semi-final spots, while fifth versus eighth and sixth versus seventh will be contested as one-off quarter-final ties.
