Arthur Fery's Wimbledon Support Team: Coaches, Family, and Mentors
Arthur Fery's Wimbledon Support Team Revealed

Arthur Fery’s sensational Wimbledon run could be set to continue when he takes on Alexander Zverev in the men’s singles semi-finals this afternoon. Fery became the first-ever British wildcard to reach the last four at SW19 after an astounding straight-sets victory over ninth seed Flavio Cobolli, the French Open finalist, on Wednesday.

Fery's Historic Run

The 23-year-old is now bidding to make more history when he takes on the tournament’s second seed, Zverev, on Centre Court for a place in the final. Fery has enjoyed a whirlwind last fortnight, rising to No. 36 in the world rankings and becoming the new British No. 1 after previously never having broken into the top 100 with the ATP.

Backed by a supporting cast of coaches, physios, and mentors, Fery’s network is vast, experienced, and packed with technical and emotional assistance. While some of Fery’s support team are more hands-on, others take a slightly more withdrawn but equally important role in helping him to prepare for matches.

Jeroen Benard, Coach

Benard joined Fery’s team in March 2025 and has been a crucial component in his rise to stardom. The 35-year-old Dutchman, like Fery, speaks both English and French and says that the pair will converse in French when he is really trying to get a message across. Noted for his short, sharp words of advice, Benard aims to give Fery clear guidance amid the heat of a match. Typically more relaxed in his demeanour than other coaches, the pressure of this afternoon’s contest might understandably lead him to become more animated.

Loic Fery, Father

Fery’s father is a French hedge fund manager and former owner of Ligue 1 football club Lorient. While he does not have much sway over Fery’s tennis, his son credits him as a huge influence, and he has been a visible presence throughout the tournament.

Olivia Fery, Mother

Fery’s mother is a former world No. 225 tennis player. She has been able to offer both technical and emotional support to her son as he navigates the rigours of professional sport. Fery, who was born in France but grew up in Wimbledon, has been staying in his mother’s house during the tournament. Often sat alongside Fery’s first coach, Alison Taylor, Olivia is a member of the All England Club.

James Trotman, National Coach

As one of the LTA’s men’s national coaches, Trotman works alongside several British players and has at times been spotted in Fery’s box. Widely respected for his work with some of Britain’s top talent, he played a major role in Jack Draper’s rise before parting company with the former British No. 1 last year.

Alex Ward, Case Manager

Tasked with ensuring that Fery’s LTA funding is spent correctly, he is the main logistical presence behind-the-scenes for the British hopeful.

Gareth Shelbourne, Strength and Conditioning

A long-term confidant of Fery’s, he has helped him overcome a myriad of injury issues, including a bone bruise like the one Draper has been struggling with for the past year. Fery and Shelbourne have worked together since the former was a teenager at the Sutton Tennis Academy.

Alejandro Avaro, Physio

Has so far helped keep Fery, who has struggled for fitness throughout his career, injury-free as he has defied expectations to reach the semi-finals. An experienced physiotherapist, osteopath and sports rehabilitation specialist, he will be tasked with ensuring that Fery can go the distance with French Open winner Zverev.
