Prince Harry will be cheering on the England squad as they take on Norway in the World Cup quarter-finals in Miami. The Duke of Sussex is likely enjoying the festival of football near his home in the United States, having relocated his young family across the Atlantic in 2020.
Harry's Move to the US
The Duke of Sussex moved with wife Meghan Markle, initially living in Canada and California. The family, including son Archie and daughter Lilibet, has now settled in southern California, after stepping back from royal duties. Prince Harry officially updated his primary place of residence in 2024 after vacating their UK home, Frogmore Cottage.
Father's Day Post Shows Family Pride
Recently, Meghan shared a Father's Day post of Harry with his two children, captioned: "They’re so lucky to have you. We all are. Happy Father’s Day to our one and only." In the picture, Archie wore a red-and-white T-shirt with 'England World Cup' on the back, showing Harry's heritage is still proudly displayed within the family.
Harry Refuses to Say 'Football's Coming Home'
Despite his support, Harry refuses to say if football is "coming home." Former Irish rugby star Brian O'Driscoll recalled asking Harry in 2018: "So, is football coming home?" The Prince replied he wasn't confident about England winning, saying he didn't want to jinx it. The event took place the day before England's semi-final loss to Croatia in the 2018 World Cup.
Return to England for Invictus Games
Prince Harry has travelled back to England this week to mark one year until the Invictus Games 2027. It was initially planned that Meghan and the children would join, but it is unclear if they did. Harry previously raised concerns about police protection for his family in the UK. A spokesperson said: "The Duke continues to explore every available option to enable the visit to proceed safely and to give his children the opportunity to enjoy the UK."
