Liam Rosenior Appointed Paris FC Manager After Chelsea Exit
Liam Rosenior Named Paris FC Boss After Chelsea Exit

Rosenior Returns to France with Paris FC

Liam Rosenior has secured a swift return to management, being named as the new head coach of Paris FC just three months after his departure from Chelsea. The 41-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the Ligue 1 side, replacing Antoine Kombouare.

Rosenior’s previous stint in France was with Strasbourg, where he earned a reputation for exceeding expectations before moving to Stamford Bridge. However, his tenure at Chelsea lasted less than four months, ending amid the club’s worst winless and goalless league run in 114 years.

Paris FC’s Ambitions Under New Leadership

Paris FC finished 11th in Ligue 1 last season, their first campaign in the French top flight in 46 years. The club split from Paris Saint-Germain in 1972 and is now majority-owned by the family of businessman Bernard Arnault, with Red Bull holding a minority stake.

Sporting director Marco Neppe praised Rosenior’s appointment: "Liam Rosenior brings together all the qualities we were looking for. He is a modern, demanding coach and recognised for his ability to help both the players and the team progress. Beyond his tactical skills, we were particularly attracted by his management qualities and his ability to unite a group around a clear vision."

Chelsea Exiles Find Success Elsewhere

Rosenior joins a growing list of former Chelsea managers who have quickly secured prominent roles. Thomas Tuchel became Bayern Munich boss and now leads England’s World Cup charge; Graham Potter managed Sweden at a major tournament; Mauricio Pochettino led the USA before their last-16 exit to Belgium; and Enzo Maresca has been named as Pep Guardiola’s successor at Manchester City.

Rosenior will aim to replicate his Strasbourg success and reignite his managerial career with Paris FC, as the club looks to build on its return to Ligue 1.
