Glasgow Warriors assistant coach Roddy Grant has left the club following an internal investigation, with the club citing confidentiality and confirming he will not be replaced this season.
The Warriors announced his sudden exit in a short statement issued on Tuesday night, without disclosing the grounds for his departure.
Club statement on departure
“Glasgow Warriors can confirm that Roddy Grant has left the club following the conclusion of an internal process,” the statement said.
“Grant will not be replaced for the remainder of the 2026/27 season, the club will continue with its existing coaching structure.
“For reasons of confidentiality, the club will not be providing any further comment.”
Background and coaching career
Grant, 39, joined Glasgow in June 2025 after a stint on the coaching staff of the Georgian national team under head coach Richard Cockerill.
He had previously spent five years as Ulster’s forwards coach and, before that, had been on the coaching staff at Edinburgh, the club for which he played for six seasons.
The news comes as a surprise given Glasgow’s unbeaten start to the season. The team sit second in the United Rugby Championship after three wins and a draw in their first four games, and they also beat Sale Sharks away in the opening round of the Investec Champions Cup.
