Is Enzo Maresca the Right Man to Replace Pep Guardiola at Man City?
Enzo Maresca: Right for Man City? Have Your Say

Manchester City have confirmed the appointment of Enzo Maresca as their new manager, succeeding Pep Guardiola at the Etihad. The 46-year-old Italian has signed a three-year deal, returning to the club where he previously served as a coach and assistant during the Treble-winning 2022/23 campaign.

Maresca's Coaching Pedigree

Maresca has been out of work since departing Chelsea in January, but his managerial resume includes guiding Chelsea to a Conference League title and Club World Cup glory. He also led Leicester City to the Championship title as champions before moving to Stamford Bridge. His prior stint at City included work with the academy and as Guardiola's assistant, giving him a strong connection to the club's philosophy.

Fan Reaction and Alternative Candidates

While Maresca's appointment has been confirmed, some fans had hoped for other candidates. Current Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany remains a popular choice for a future return, while PSG's Luis Enrique and Tottenham's Roberto De Zerbi were also mentioned. Andoni Iraola, now at Liverpool, was another possible candidate before Maresca was chosen.
