Djokovic Fined £5,600 by Wimbledon for Obscenity

Novak Djokovic has been fined £5,600 by Wimbledon bosses for an "audible obscenity," according to a fines list published by the All England Club on Tuesday evening. The seven-time champion was penalized for an incident during his fourth-round match against Roman Safiullin, though the exact offence was not specified.

Djokovic's Meltdown Against Safiullin

The 39-year-old received a formal warning from the umpire after shouting "bull****" and other Serbian expletives when he was broken for 2-0 in the third set. He also lost his temper later in the set after Safiullin fired a thunderous forehand directly toward him, forcing Djokovic to dodge the ball.

Other Players Fined

Brazilian teenager Joao Fonseca was fined the same amount for racket abuse. Hubert Hurkacz also received a £5,600 penalty for an audible obscenity, while Julian Cash was issued the same fine. Andre Goransson was fined £3,700 ($5,000) for unsportsmanlike conduct, and Tamara Korpatsch was docked £2,200 ($3,000) for the same offence. In total, 16 players were punished by Wimbledon officials.
