The Dutch driver, who has been in scintillating form this season, struggled with balance issues during practice sessions at the Hungaroring circuit. Marko, known for his frank assessments, didn't mince words when discussing the challenges facing the championship leader.
Technical Troubles Emerge
Verstappen reported unusual handling characteristics with his RB19, particularly through the twisty middle sector of the track. The Hungaroring's tight and technical layout appears to have exposed some weaknesses in Red Bull's otherwise dominant package.
"We're not where we want to be," Marko admitted. "The car isn't responding as we expected, and Max is having to work harder than usual to find pace."
Rival Teams Closing the Gap?
The issues come at a crucial point in the season, with rivals Mercedes and Ferrari showing improved form in recent races. McLaren's upgrades have also made them more competitive, potentially threatening Red Bull's supremacy.
Verstappen remains optimistic despite the challenges: "Every weekend presents different obstacles. We'll analyze the data and make the necessary adjustments. The team has shown incredible ability to solve problems quickly."
