Daniel Ricciardo has candidly revealed the emotional turmoil he faced after being axed from Formula 1, admitting he struggled to recognise himself following a challenging season.
The Australian driver, known for his infectious smile and upbeat personality, confessed that his confidence took a severe hit after a series of underwhelming performances with McLaren.
'I Felt Lost' – Ricciardo’s Honest Admission
In a rare moment of vulnerability, Ricciardo shared how his self-doubt spiralled after failing to meet expectations. "There were days when I looked in the mirror and didn’t know who I was anymore," he admitted. "The passion was still there, but the results just weren’t coming."
The Turning Point
After parting ways with McLaren, Ricciardo took time away from the sport to reflect. "I needed to step back and rediscover why I fell in love with racing in the first place," he explained.
Now, as Red Bull’s reserve driver, he remains hopeful for a future return to the grid. "This isn’t the end for me," he insisted. "I still believe I have more to give."
