A former nurse has been found guilty of raping a woman at the Spanish holiday home of Formula 1 icon Michael Schumacher in a disturbing attack that occurred during a social gathering.
The 53-year-old German national, identified only as Markus R, was convicted by a court in Alicante for the sexual assault that took place at Schumacher's luxury villa in the exclusive Costa Blanca area of Spain.
The Disturbing Incident
According to court documents, the assault occurred when the victim, whose identity remains protected, was invited to the property for a holiday celebration. The convicted man, who previously worked as a nurse in Germany, was among the guests at the gathering.
Prosecutors detailed how the attack took place within the grounds of the seven-time world champion's Mediterranean retreat, with the assailant exploiting the private setting to carry out the assault.
Legal Proceedings and Sentencing
The Alicante Provincial Court handed down a sentence of four years in prison following a thorough investigation and trial proceedings. Additionally, the convicted man has been ordered to pay €12,000 in compensation to the survivor of the attack.
