Kimi Antonelli is poised to become Formula One's youngest-ever world champion, with a 123-point lead in the drivers' standings and a net worth estimated at $18 million (£13.4m).

The 20-year-old Italian, in his second season as a main driver for Mercedes, has won nine races this year. With five races remaining, he holds a commanding lead over his more experienced team-mate George Russell, who sits second.

To clinch the title at this Sunday's Mexico City Grand Prix, Antonelli must finish ninth or higher. In that scenario, the championship would belong to the Bolognese driver regardless of where Russell and Lewis Hamilton finish. He would also take the title if he fails to score points but his two championship rivals do not win the race.

Net Worth and Earnings

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Antonelli's net worth is estimated at $18 million (£13.4m). That figure reflects estimates of his racing income and commercial earnings, rather than an independently verified accounting of his assets and liabilities.

His financial profile has grown considerably as he has risen through the ranks in motorsport. He joined Mercedes' junior programme in 2019 before progressing through Formula 4, Formula Regional and Formula 2. His promotion to the Mercedes F1 team in 2025 put him on a reported $5m base salary and a further $7.5m in performance bonuses. He has also built a portfolio of endorsements, including deals with Adidas and IWC Schaffhausen.

Famous Father

The Antonelli name was already well-known in Italian motorsport circles long before Kimi's rise. His father, Marco, was also a racing driver, mainly competing in touring cars and sports cars. Marco began his racing career in the early 1990s and competed in the Italian Superturismo Championship before moving into several international GT competitions, including the European Touring Car Championship, the Blancpain GT Series and the International GT Open.

In 1993, Marco founded his own racing team called Antonelli Motorsport, which later became well known in karting and junior racing categories. Growing up around racing circuits from a very young age played a major role in shaping Kimi's early career. He started karting when he was seven years old and won the Easykart International Grand Finals in 2015.

Public Split

On the eve of this year's F1 season, Antonelli's girlfriend Eliska Babickova took to Instagram to post a video announcing the couple had broken up after more than two years together. Babickova, who hails from the Czech Republic, was a karting driver herself. She won the Italian OK-class karting championship in 2023, making history as the first woman to claim the title.

In February, Babickova confirmed their break-up, saying she had made the decision to end the relationship. "I was the one to end the relationship because I felt that we no longer aligned in our personal lives and in what we wanted for our future," she explained. She also rejected speculation about infidelity, saying there was no third person involved. The karting racer said their values and future expectations had diverged, adding that there was no major drama behind the separation, before asking people to stop spreading speculation about their private lives.
