Ferrari Urged to Overlook Oliver Bearman for 2025 F1 Seat – Here’s Why
Ferrari urged to overlook Bearman for 2025 F1 seat

Ferrari has reportedly been advised to look beyond young British talent Oliver Bearman when finalising their 2025 Formula 1 driver lineup, despite the 18-year-old’s impressive debut earlier this season.

The Scuderia, one of the most prestigious names in motorsport, is under pressure to make the right choice as they aim to return to championship-winning form. Bearman, who stepped in for Carlos Sainz at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, delivered a stellar performance, finishing seventh and earning widespread praise.

Why Ferrari Might Look Elsewhere

Despite Bearman’s potential, insiders suggest Ferrari may prioritise experience over youth. With Lewis Hamilton joining from Mercedes in 2025, the team could opt for a seasoned teammate to maximise their title chances.

Former F1 driver and pundit Martin Brundle commented: "While Bearman has shown incredible promise, Ferrari needs a proven performer alongside Hamilton. This isn’t the time for experiments."

Alternative Options for Ferrari

Speculation is rife over who could partner Hamilton, with names like:

  • Carlos Sainz – if he can be persuaded to stay
  • Alex Albon – currently impressing at Williams
  • Esteban Ocon – a consistent performer with Alpine

Ferrari’s decision will be crucial as they seek to challenge Red Bull’s dominance in the coming seasons.
