F1-Obsessed Grandmother Wins £330k McLaren Supercar in Omaze Draw - But Won't Drive It Like Verstappen!
F1 Granny Wins McLaren Supercar But Won't Drive Like Verstappen

A seventy-four-year-old grandmother with a passion for Formula 1 has become the unlikely winner of a breathtaking £330,000 McLaren supercar in the latest Omaze million-pound house draw.

Margaret McGovern, from the quaint Surrey village of Brockham, couldn't believe her luck when she was announced as the winner of the pristine orange McLaren Artura - a hybrid sports car capable of reaching speeds up to 200mph.

From Family Runs to Supercar Dreams

Despite her love for F1 racing, Margaret confessed she won't be emulating her hero Max Verstappen's driving style anytime soon. "I certainly won't be driving it like Max - I'll be sticking to the speed limits," the sensible grandmother declared.

Margaret, who currently drives a modest Vauxhall Mokka, plans to use the supercar for everyday activities - including the school run with her grandchildren. "They'll absolutely love it - though I might need to check the car seats fit properly first," she joked.

Life-Changing Win Beyond the Supercar

The Omaze draw not only delivered the incredible McLaren but also raised an astounding £2.6 million for the Teenage Cancer Trust charity. Margaret expressed her delight at supporting such a worthy cause through her participation.

"I've been entering the Omaze draws for a while now - I always thought it would be amazing to win the house, but I never dreamed I'd win a car like this," she shared. "It's even more special knowing the money raised is helping such an important charity."

What Does the Future Hold?

When asked about her plans for the vehicle, Margaret remained pragmatic yet excited. While she intends to enjoy the car responsibly, she hasn't ruled out the possibility of selling it to provide financial security for her family.

"It's an incredible problem to have," she laughed. "For now, I'm just going to enjoy looking at it on my driveway - it might take me a while to pluck up the courage to actually drive it!"

The win serves as inspiration for dreamers across the UK, proving that sometimes life's most extraordinary moments can arrive when least expected.
