Du Plessis Tips McGregor's Sneaky Power for UFC Comeback

Dricus Du Plessis believes Conor McGregor's 'sneaky power' will be the decisive factor in his upcoming UFC return against Max Holloway. The two-time UFC champion makes his long-awaited comeback at International Fight Week, ending a five-year absence from the octagon following a career-threatening leg break sustained in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier.

McGregor and Holloway Renew Rivalry After 13 Years

McGregor, 37, and Holloway, 34, will clash for the first time since their 2013 bout at UFC Fight Night 26, where McGregor won by decision. The pair had to be separated during Thursday's press conference after McGregor threw Holloway's sunglasses into the crowd. McGregor vowed to deliver a violent performance, stating: 'I'm in my prime now and forever. Bring it on, Saturday night, you're going to see violence, you're going to see a ferocious man.'

Du Plessis Highlights McGregor's 'Scary Timing'

Speaking to Betway, Du Plessis praised Holloway but backed McGregor: 'Max Holloway, massive fan, love him. He's a great fighter and he's deserving of everything he's gotten. But I can't go against Conor. I honestly believe Conor has that scary timing – everybody that has fought him says that. And he has that sneaky power. Everybody that fights him says that when he hits you, you feel it. It just takes one. Ilia knocked out Max, so it can be done.'

McGregor's Comeback After Five-Year Layoff

McGregor's return marks his first fight since breaking his leg in July 2021 against Poirier. He has since focused on recovery and training, aiming to prove he remains elite. Holloway, the former BMF champion, last fought in March, losing to Charles Oliveira at UFC 326. He previously beat Poirier in July 2025. Holloway acknowledged McGregor's improvements: 'I believe him, he's doing all the right things, he found God, we're getting ready for a dangerous Conor McGregor.'
