Aston Villa have rejected a £60m bid from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal for striker Ollie Watkins, according to sources close to the club.
Bid details
The offer from the Riyadh-based club was made in recent days and was swiftly turned down by Villa, who have no intention of selling the England international this summer.
Watkins, 29, scored 19 Premier League goals last season and has three years remaining on his contract at Villa Park.
Villa's stance
Villa manager Unai Emery is understood to view Watkins as a key part of his plans for the upcoming campaign, with the club also competing in the Champions League.
The club's hierarchy have made it clear that the forward is not for sale at any price, and the bid was rejected without negotiation.
Al-Hilal's search
Al-Hilal, who already count Neymar, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic among their squad, are looking to strengthen their attacking options further.
The Saudi club have been active in the transfer market this summer and are expected to pursue other targets after Villa's firm refusal.
