Man United injury news: Baleba, Rashford, Sesko

Manchester United beat Roma 3-2 at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, coming from 2-0 down thanks to a late Matheus Cunha double, but the win was overshadowed by a fresh injury concern for Carlos Baleba.

The midfielder pulled his hamstring early in the second half and looked distraught as he limped off the pitch after receiving treatment. Manager Michael Carrick provided an update on Baleba after the game, along with the latest news on other absentees from Carrington.

Carlos Baleba injury update

Baleba picked up a hamstring injury early in the second half of United's win over Roma. He was able to hobble off the pitch but was clearly distressed as he headed for the tunnel.

After the game, Carrick said: "I haven't got any more news on Carlos at this stage, but obviously it looks... it's his hamstring, so we'll just have to assess what that looks like. Initially, it doesn't look great. Timelines, I haven't got much more to give you."

Other injury news from Carrington

Luke Shaw did not feature in training on Monday. Carrick said earlier this week: "Luke definitely won't be around this week, and fit at that point." His potential return date is November 22 against Liverpool.

Marcus Rashford continues his recovery from a hip injury and did not feature in training on Monday. "Marcus, we will just have to see day-by-day how he keeps improving," Carrick said on Monday. His potential return date is November 8 against Aston Villa.

Dorgu and Sesko sidelined

Patrick Dorgu has not featured since picking up a thigh injury on international duty, but he did take part in training on Monday. "It was his first day with the group so it is great to have him back. He's worked ever so hard to be back with the group, but he won't be involved tomorrow. We will see how he progresses through the week but great to have him back," Carrick said of the Dane. His potential return date is November 8 against Aston Villa.

Benjamin Sesko is out with a shin injury. Carrick said on Friday: "Yeah, unfortunately Ben looks like he's going to be out for a period of time. We're still not clear of exactly how long, but it's going to be for a longer period of time. It was the process, as I said to you before, we had to go through the process, a bit of a healing process for the injury to see how it would react and what direction to go with that. Even now we're still working through it. But it's unfortunate, obviously first and foremost, for Ben, for the kind of period that he's had, and tried to get through it and going through this again. And for us to not have him available is obviously a blow, but we'll try and get back, get him back as quick as we can." His potential return date is January.

Manuel Ugarte is a long-term absentee with a knee injury and will not feature until the back end of the season if he does make a comeback this term. He continues to recover from the serious knee injury that he picked up at the World Cup, with a potential return date of 2027.
