Harry Kane has sparked injury fears after the England captain was spotted with a bandage following the Three Lions' 4-2 win over Croatia. The Bayern Munich star was on the scoresheet twice during the opener, striking from the spot and powering home a header. However, there were worries for his fitness after full-time.
After emerging from the dressing room, now dressed in casual clothes, Kane was pictured with a bandage around his lower left leg at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Reports suggest he was moving freely, despite the bandage around his leg.
Kane's Performance Praised
Kane was impressive on Wednesday, and speaking about his performance, Thomas Tuchel said: “To see the commitment of our captain, of our No.9 in the extra time, to block a crucial shot with all his body. His commitment to buy into a defensive action like this, then you know everything about his performance today. Complete performance, absolute leader. He is all in physically, he is all-in mentally, and he is all in as a full package at the moment. He wants it, he leads by example, we are very happy.”
Rice Also a Concern
Kane isn't the only injury worry – Declan Rice was spotted limping after he was subbed off by Tuchel. “Let’s see. I hope they’re OK,” Tuchel said. “I would never take Declan out normally. We are exhausted but I loved exhausted players in the dressing room. It’s pressure, it’s the first game of the tournament.” While Rice, himself, added: “All good. Good as gold. Just what I’ve been nursing probably in the second half of the season at Arsenal, little neural pains here and there. But I’m all good, all fine, just precaution and I’ll be back out there against Ghana.”
