England Stars Believe Henderson Can Return After Fractured Arm Surgery
Henderson Could Return to World Cup, Say England Stars

England teammates Morgan Rogers and Dan Burn have expressed confidence that Jordan Henderson could still feature for the national team in the remainder of the World Cup, despite the former Liverpool captain suffering a fractured arm during England's last-16 win over Mexico at the Azteca Stadium.

Henderson underwent successful surgery in Kansas City and is reportedly determined to return to the squad before the tournament ends. When asked about Henderson's decision to rejoin the group, Rogers said: "That just shows exactly what he's like as a person and as a guy. I think hopefully he can still be involved with us going for the rest of the tournament."

Henderson's Influence Praised

Rogers emphasised Henderson's importance off the pitch, stating: "He's not going to rule himself out in either way. I think the belief he's got in his own body and his ability and his confidence and the way he is and what he represents as a person is massive to our group and he's everything really. He's the heartbeat of the group."

Rogers also noted Henderson's positive demeanour: "To see him this morning smiling and still as happy as he ever is, no matter what's happened in the last 48 hours or what, it's so nice for us to just see him and hopefully we can get him back out on the pitch as soon as possible."

Burn Reflects on Incident

Defender Dan Burn admitted feeling guilty over his inadvertent role in the incident. Burn explained: "Yeah, I think I killed him a bit because I made it look really easy when I jumped over. He was like a kid for me!"

Burn recalled the moment of injury: "Yeah, I just heard the noise behind us straight away, and you know with Hendo, if he doesn't get up, there's something wrong. Yeah, gutted for him, because I think he was so pumped on the pitch as well, which I think just shows the type of person he is. He wasn't on the pitch, but he was still buzzing for everyone."

He added: "He's had his op now, and hopefully they're still up for him to play in the tournament. I know he'll do absolutely everything possible to be there with the lads, supporting. I'm happy he's back in Kansas now, because I think it's been a long few days."
