Legendary football manager Harry Redknapp is vying for a second I'm a Celebrity crown in the All Stars series, but his recent months have been overshadowed by health scares for both himself and his wife Sandra. The 79-year-old opened up about a hearing loss diagnosis that he described as 'dangerous', after his wife urged him to get checked.
Redknapp told ITV's This Morning that he first realised there might be a problem while driving, when he failed to hear his indicators and left them flashing, causing other motorists to react. 'Suddenly, I thought all these blokes must know me. They were all going past, sticking fingers up to me! They must be all Arsenal fans, all shouting!' he said. He added that the condition 'could have caused accidents'.
Mrs Redknapp, who has been married to Harry since 1968, recalled signs such as her husband accusing her of whispering when she was not, and him struggling to join in conversations at dinner. In 2018, she was taken to hospital with sepsis after a kidney infection, a 'very scary' ordeal for the former Portsmouth boss. In September 2025, he spearheaded a campaign for the UK Sepsis Trust to raise awareness, telling the BBC: 'Luckily, we did [go to hospital]. Otherwise, she could have been in a lot of trouble. It was a big shock.'
Redknapp, who left his last managerial role at Birmingham City in 2017, first won I'm a Celebrity in 2018. He returned this year for the second All Stars series, joining the camp alongside former West Ham player Jimmy Bullard. The live final will be broadcast from London with a public vote.
