Shocking doorbell camera footage has emerged showing a car registered to Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt flipping over in a dramatic crash. The incident occurred in Covington, Kentucky, on 15 November, just days after the NFL star completed a five-day jail sentence for a separate reckless driving offence.
Chaotic Scene and Conflicting Stories
The video, captured in the 400 block of Scott Street, shows a black Jeep running a red light before colliding with a parked red Chevrolet Cruze. The impact caused the Jeep to flip onto its roof, landing just out of the camera's view. Covington Police confirmed no arrests were made, with Captain James Bradbury stating the case was not forwarded for prosecution as "no one committed a crime."
Bodycam footage obtained by WKRC Local 12 revealed significant confusion at the scene. Officers found both vehicles severely damaged but empty. A man, later identified as Jafabian Booker, approached police claiming to be Taylor-Britt's brother. He initially stated a drunk woman was driving and had fled. Police noted the car reeked of marijuana and expressed scepticism, pointing out the driver's seat was positioned too far back for the woman's alleged height.
Driver Admission and Star's Injury
Authorities later located Taylor-Britt at his home. The Bengals star insisted he was not driving and claimed Booker was behind the wheel. In a subsequent conversation captured on bodycam, Booker admitted he was the driver. Officers noted Taylor-Britt appeared injured, with a torn shirt and what looked like blood on his left shoulder, though he stated he was "really pissed off" but not hurt.
The very next day, on 16 November, Taylor-Britt's season came to a premature end when he suffered a Lisfranc foot injury during a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Previous Legal Troubles
This crash followed Taylor-Britt's recent legal issues. He had just served a five-day jail sentence after pleading guilty to reckless driving and driving with a restricted license from a September incident. At his sentencing hearing, he apologised to the court, saying, "I plan already to knock out those things that got me into this place, because it is not me, and I don’t want to be here."
Despite the chaos and damage of the November crash, police ultimately filed no charges, concluding the investigation without further action.
