The Fever, who made the playoffs, decided against risking their star player for a potential short run against the strong Minnesota Lynx team.
The decision drew anger from some of Clark’s more vocal followers, who accused the league of failing her and predicted the WNBA would suffer without her. In reality, Clark’s rushed comeback in July had already raised concerns, and medical experts say protecting her long-term future outweighs any short-term gain.
