Alvaro Arbeloa has said Antonee Robinson will continue to be assessed ahead of Fulham’s trip to Ipswich.
Fulham return from the international break looking for their first league win of the season, having taken just two points from their opening five games under Arbeloa.
Robinson injury concern
Arbeloa’s side are joint bottom of the Premier League table but their performances have shown signs of improvement, with credible draws against Liverpool and Manchester United.
They travel to Portman Road in desperate need of three points, but could be without vice-captain Robinson after he picked up an ankle injury in training on Thursday.
“He had some issues with his ankle yesterday, but we will see later, I don't know right now. I have no idea,” Arbeloa said in his pre-match press conference on Friday morning. “I think he will be available, but I have to make a decision if I think he's ready for 90 minutes or he will just start on the bench. Right now I can't answer.”
Tete and Cairney updates
Robinson has continued to underline his importance to Fulham this season, starting every league game since Arbeloa took charge.
The USMNT star is a key attacking outlet in Arbeloa’s expansive high press system and the Fulham boss is confident he will be fit to play some part against Ipswich.
Saturday’s game is set to come soon for Tom Cairney, though, as he continues his rehabilitation from a knee injury which required a minor surgical procedure at the start of August. Kenny Tete, meanwhile, is in contention for minutes after missing Fulham’s 1-1 draw with Man United as he followed the Premier League’s concussion protocols.
“We are very happy because everyone is back and fit,” Arbeloa continued. “At the moment, everyone is available for tomorrow. (Kenny) Tete is much better. We are so happy to have Tom Cairney back, but maybe a little too soon for him.”
